Leona Heidern first appeared in The King of Fighters 96 and was a recruit to the Ikari Team. A testament to her stealth and fighting ability. Some of Leona’s favorite weapons are her explosive earrings, her throwing hairpin and her special boots. One of the reasons why Leona is such a special character is that she is a Orochi descendent.
How did Leona become such a formidable solider? When Leona was a teenager she was adopted by one of the series main characters Heidern. Who raises Leona as a Ikari Warrior. Due to her impressive natural abilities as a fighter.
Mai Shiranui:
Mai Shiranui appears in The King of Fighters and Fatal Fury. Mai’s fighting style is unique for a female character as all of her moves were originally designed for a male fighter.
Mai comes from a lineage of powerful fighters and happens to be the granddaughter of Hanzo Shiranui. The famed master of ninjitsu and Koppo-ken. As a result Mai learned the secret art of ninjutsu from her father who carried on Hanzo Shiranui’s legacy. Mai eventually becomes romantically interested in another fellow fighter Andy. Who she spends many games pursuing.
Terry Bogard:
Terry Bogard is the primary protagonist of the Fatal Fury series and appears in every Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters title. So if you’ve ever played a Fatal Fury of The King of Fighters title, you should recognize Terry Bogard. Who walks around with his pet monkey Ukee.
Terry is an American character who is the brother of Andy Bogard and the adopted son of Jeff Bogard. Terry if often referred to by his nickname the legendary hungry wolf. Terry’s first appearance in a fighting game was in CAPCOM’s Street Figther. In which Terry appears in a worn leather jacket.
Andy Bogard:
Andy Bogard is the brother of Terry and the love interest of Mai. As mentioned previously Andy grew up on the streets with his brother Terry and was eventually adopted by Jeff Bogard. Who gave Andy and Terry a home in Southtown. Andy’s nicknames are the human weapon and the full body weapon. Like his brother Andy also appears in the Fatal Fury series and The King of Fighters series.
While Andy and Terry are brothers, Andy decides to create his own Japanese martial art form, in order to differentiate his fighting style from his older brother’s style of fighting. During his time in Japan Andy is also taught the art of ninjitsu by Mai Shiranui’s grandfather Hanzo Shiranui.
